NAD\u207a sup\u00adports enzy\u00admes respon\u00adsi\u00adble for DNA repair, cell rege\u00adne\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon, and pro\u00adtec\u00adtion against oxi\u00adda\u00adtive stress. With incre\u00adasing age or ele\u00adva\u00adted oxi\u00adda\u00adtive stress, NAD\u207a levels in the body decrease. Ener\u00adgy-inten\u00adsi\u00adve tis\u00adsues such as heart mus\u00adcle, ner\u00adve cells \u2013 and also oocytes \u2013 are par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly affec\u00adted.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sin\u00adce oocytes have a very high ener\u00adgy requi\u00adre\u00adment for their matu\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon, and mito\u00adchon\u00addri\u00adal func\u00adtion as well as cel\u00adlu\u00adlar NAD\u207a levels phy\u00adsio\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal\u00adly decrease with advan\u00adcing age, a pos\u00adsi\u00adble con\u00adnec\u00adtion with egg qua\u00adli\u00adty is sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adcal\u00adly dis\u00adcus\u00adsed. Whe\u00adther they can impro\u00adve egg qua\u00adli\u00adty or increase the chan\u00adces of pregnan\u00adcy and live birth has not yet been pro\u00adven by robust cli\u00adni\u00adcal stu\u00addies.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During an NAD\u207a infu\u00adsi\u00adon, NAD\u207a is admi\u00adnis\u00adte\u00adred slow\u00adly intra\u00adve\u00adnous\u00adly. NAD\u207a pre\u00adcur\u00adsors such as nico\u00adtin\u00adami\u00adde mono\u00adnu\u00adcleo\u00adti\u00adde (NMN) have often been inves\u00adti\u00adga\u00adted. Initi\u00adal stu\u00addies on human oocytes in the labo\u00adra\u00adto\u00adry are also available. Howe\u00adver, the\u00adse results do not con\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adte pro\u00adof of effi\u00adca\u00adcy for infu\u00adsi\u00adon tre\u00adat\u00adment in women see\u00adking fer\u00adti\u00adli\u00adty (Ber\u00adtol\u00addo et al. Cell Rep. 2020; Zhang et al. Front Endo\u00adcri\u00adnol (Lau\u00adsanne).      2025).  <br> <br>Sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adcal\u00adly valid, sta\u00adtis\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly signi\u00adfi\u00adcant evi\u00addence (pro\u00adof) that NAD\u207a infu\u00adsi\u00adons impro\u00adve egg qua\u00adli\u00adty, increase embryo\u00adnic deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment rates, or rai\u00adse live birth rates in humans is curr\u00adent\u00adly not available. The method is in the stage of cli\u00adni\u00adcal rese\u00adarch. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"dl-grid--33-67 dl-blocks--expert-insights\">\n<div class=\"gb-element-f46b94b8\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"gb-text\">Medi\u00adcal Assess\u00adment of NAD\u207a Infu\u00adsi\u00adons<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text dl-expert-tag\"><span>Inno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adve the\u00adra\u00adpy<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We clo\u00adse\u00adly fol\u00adlow new approa\u00adches in fer\u00adti\u00adli\u00adty medi\u00adci\u00adne. NAD\u207a plays a cen\u00adtral role in the meta\u00adbo\u00adlism of mito\u00adchon\u00addria, the cel\u00adl\u2019s \u201cpower\u00adhou\u00adses.\u201d In addi\u00adti\u00adon, cer\u00adtain enzy\u00admes requi\u00adre NAD\u207a for cel\u00adlu\u00adlar pro\u00adtec\u00adtion and repair pro\u00adces\u00adses. The\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfo\u00adre, it is being inves\u00adti\u00adga\u00adted whe\u00adther influen\u00adcing NAD\u207a meta\u00adbo\u00adlism could sup\u00adport the func\u00adtion and matu\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon of oocytes.<br>An important rese\u00adarch approach is pro\u00advi\u00added by a stu\u00addy published in 2020 by Ber\u00adtol\u00addo and col\u00adle\u00adagues: In older mice, impro\u00adve\u00adments in oocy\u00adte func\u00adtion and fer\u00adti\u00adli\u00adty were obser\u00adved through the admi\u00adnis\u00adtra\u00adti\u00adon of the NAD\u207a pre\u00adcur\u00adsor nico\u00adtin\u00adami\u00adde mono\u00adnu\u00adcleo\u00adti\u00adde (NMN). The stu\u00addy also show\u00aded bene\u00adfi\u00adci\u00adal effects on ear\u00adly embryo\u00adnic deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment. The\u00adse results indi\u00adca\u00adte that NAD\u207a meta\u00adbo\u00adlism plays a role in age-depen\u00addent chan\u00adges in oocytes (Ber\u00adtol\u00addo et al. 2020).     <br>Howe\u00adver, results from ani\u00admal expe\u00adri\u00adments can\u00adnot be direct\u00adly trans\u00adfer\u00adred to human tre\u00adat\u00adment. Even initi\u00adal stu\u00addies on human oocytes in the labo\u00adra\u00adto\u00adry do not yet ans\u00adwer the ques\u00adti\u00adon of whe\u00adther infu\u00adsi\u00adon tre\u00adat\u00adment bene\u00adfits pati\u00adents. <br><br>Whe\u00adther NAD\u207a infu\u00adsi\u00adons impro\u00adve egg qua\u00adli\u00adty or increase the chan\u00adces of pregnan\u00adcy and live birth has not yet been pro\u00adven by robust cli\u00adni\u00adcal stu\u00addies. Initi\u00adal cli\u00adni\u00adcal obser\u00adva\u00adtions are not yet suf\u00adfi\u00adci\u00adent for a relia\u00adble assess\u00adment (Tan\u00addul\u00adwad\u00adkar et al. 2026). <br><br>The\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfo\u00adre, we con\u00adsider NAD\u207a infu\u00adsi\u00adons to be a com\u00adple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adry, expe\u00adri\u00admen\u00adtal the\u00adra\u00adpeu\u00adtic approach with unpro\u00adven bene\u00adfits. F\\u00fcr mich ist es au\\u00dferdem von unsch\\u00e4tzbarem Wert, dass diese Kinderwunschklinik auch w\\u00e4hrend der Ferienzeiten keine langen Behandlungspausen macht und immer jemand da ist, der sich um die Patientinnen k\\u00fcmmert. Gerade auf einem solchen Weg gibt einem das unglaublich viel Sicherheit.  Auch die lieben Mitarbeiterinnen am Empfang, bei der Blutabnahme und bei den Infusionen m\\u00f6chte ich nicht vergessen. Auf ein L\\u00e4cheln, ein gutes Wort und Unterst\\u00fctzung konnte ich mich immer verlassen. Und das L\\u00e4cheln und die positive Ausstrahlung von Kornelija Gvazdaitien\\u0117 haben mir jede Punktion ein kleines bisschen leichter gemacht.  Auch das Labor, die Embryologinnen und Embryologen sowie das gesamte Team im Hintergrund m\\u00f6chte ich keinesfalls unerw\\u00e4hnt lassen. Jeder Einzelne hier bringt unglaublich viel Herz und Engagement in seine Arbeit ein - und genau das sp\\u00fcrt man als Patientin w\\u00e4hrend der gesamten Behandlung.
